Journey to college

For this assignment we must use type to display our typical journey to college . It is like telling a story while only using type and trying to create character by using different sizes of type and different typefaces . Here is my process from initial sketches to punting the text, cutting it up and positioning it .

Spar Bag Design

This was an enjoyable assignment. We were part of a real competition where we had to design a reusable bag for the shop Spar.

It had to be modern and so my theme was music and I drew out the boxes that would have been seen on the music dial. I used the colors green and red to represent the spar colours.

This Assignment was slightly more complicated and would certainly take a lot more imagination and creativeness to complete. We must create an 8 page book and we got to choose a theme and an object from a list we were given. The theme I chose was "Smooth and Rough", the object I chose was "Lipstick". Picking these two, I was able to make various markings and create smooth lines or rough lines with the lipstick itself.

It was difficult to know what I should put into the book and the main objective was to make an interesting book where the attention of the reader or viewer was kept.

I used a number of different textured objects to create my book.

I did a lot of photocopying and cutting out different bits of materials. One of the restrictions was that we were not supposed to alter or create any images using graphic programs. We were however able to use a photocopier and thats where I learned how to zoom in and decrease the size of images without the use of computers.

Expression brief

We got a brief, we  must use expressive type in designing an A3 poster. We choose one word that we can expand on and the word I chose was 'Sadness'. I must express this word as best I can to relate to the meaning behind the word .
